"G & T READING Grades 6-8"
During this 5 week accelerated program our certified teacher and reading specialist offers engaging activities which help students become stronger readers and better overall students by increasing reading speed, improving comprehension, learning study skills and developing a zeal for reading. By the end of the session students will:
· Learn techniques to improve concentration and retention;

· Decrease homework time, achieve better comprehension, and retain more;
· Learn to adjust reading speed depending on material

· Learn a step-by-step approach to determine how information is organized in non-fiction reading, and identify main ideas and supporting details;
· Learn effective note-taking and how to incorporate notes into studying for tests
· Develop strategies for learning new words and incorporating them into their vocabulary
