Last year, Montville UNICO decided to host the inaugural 4-day San Gennaro feast/carnival to bring the sounds and flavors of Italy to the community.
After seeing success last year, UNICO is hosting the second one from Sept. 5-8. It will be held in Montville on at 90 Horseneck Road, behind the Montville Library.
“The original festival was started by Italian immigrants from Naples, Italy wishing to honor their patron saint, St. Gennaro. Continuing the tradition, Montville UNICO will celebrate Italian culture and food with four days of rides, games, food, live entertainment, a mega 50/50, and more,” according to the Patch event listing.
Here’s a look at the festival’s hours:
- Thursday 6 – 10 p.m.
- Friday 6 - 11 p.m.
- Saturday noon – 11 p.m.
- Sunday noon – 6 p.m.
Parking is available on site. Lakeland Bank is a significant event sponsor.
“The proceeds (will) to continue our 20-year funding of educational grants, community services, disease research, aiding the disabled, holiday donations of food, gifts and clothing, and much more.”
