Lazar Back-to-School Night, 'Medieval Musing' Lecture

School’s in full swing and already there are academic deadlines.

The PSAT’s will be Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. at MTHS, but registration is already here.

Registration for Juniors already passed and sophomores and freshman, their deadline is Thursday. It’s $25 and can cash or a check made out to MTHS Guidance.

On Thursday, Montville Girls Varsity Field Hockey will take on Morris Knolls at home at 3:45 p.m. In other school news, Lazar Middle School’s Back-to School night is Thursday at 7 p.m. and the MTHS Mustang meeting is at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.

With recent shows like Camelot, Game of Thrones and The Borgias on TV, get a more accurate look at that time period of kings and queens. Also at the library on Thursday is a "Medieval Musing" Lecture Series on the Middle Ages.

Dr. Christopher Bellitto, Chair of the Kean University History Department will present a 3-part series on the Middle Ages, according to the Patch event listing. Registration required and space is limited.

The Montville Township Planning Board is meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building, but another board meeting is canceled. Originally scheduled for Thursday, the Montville Zoning Board meeting was canceled. All business will be carried to the Oct. 2 meeting, including a resolution to demolish an existing home and construct a new single family home at 13 Forge Hill.
