To the Editor: Enough is Enough! Montville Deserves a Fourth Choice I am personally sick and tired of all the mudslinging and negative campaigning being done by the Sandham and Daughtry campaign.  I believe it is an embarrassment to our community and to members of the Republican party.  That is why I think that voters deserve a fourth choice in tomorrow’s Republican primary and I am encouraging people NOT to bullet vote but to use their second vote by writing in GARY LEWIS.     It has held that it doesn't matter what they do, at least one of them will win a spot on the Republican ballot.  I …
The following is a letter to the editor submitted by an area resident about candidates for township committee. The letter does not not express the beliefs or opinions of Montville Patch. Speaking strictly as a woman: I was surprised to hear that former mayor and committeeman Art Daughtry had decided to run for office again immediately after he stepped down.  Perhaps Art’s plan for retirement had changed, although he did speak of moving to North Carolina and retiring several times. This Saturday, February 19th, the annual Montville Fire elections will take place from 2 - 9 pm at the fire houses listed below.  How many of you were aware of these elections? We were not aware of this until a few days ago. These elections will determine how much of our tax dollars will  go to fund each of the three fire districts.  All registered voters are eligible to vote in this election.The foundation of good government is openness and transparency at all levels, a principle the Tea Party supports.  In 2010 the three fire districts received over 1.8 million dollars in tax money. …
