Utility working with helicopters to pull wires through Montville.
PSE&G crews worked with helicopters Monday to install wires over Interstate 287 and Route 202 in Montville Township for the new Susquehanne-Roseland line, officials said. The installation originally was scheduled to be completed Sunday, but was postponed because of rain, according to township notifications. Such "wire pulling activities" are listed on the PSE&G construction schedule for Montville from May 13 through June 1. The utility is upgrading an aging transmission corridor that starts at the Susquehanna station in Pennsylvania and travels 45 miles through New Jersey. PSE&G describes the new structures as "tubular steel poles with an average height of 184 feet ... painted valley green." The previous steel lattic towers average 93 feet…
