Pop singer and Broadway performer Michelle Williams, well-known for being a member of the R&B female group "Destiny's Child," will be performing a benefit concert for U.S. Marine Corps. Lance Cpl. Adrian Simone at Montville Township High School Friday. Simone, a 19-year-old MTHS graduate, had to have both of his legs amputated after he was injured in Afghanistan by an Improvised Explosion Device (IED). Read about Simone's recovery here. "While visiting family in Montville, Michelle Williams became aware of Adrian's story of bravery and offered to help the local war hero," according to a press release for the concert. Source told website Joe and Melissa Gorga are having trouble paying mortgage.
Joe and Melissa Gorga's $3.8 million Montville home was put on the market last week, but despite rumors that the Gorgas are selling their home because of financial trouble, Gorga told HuffPost Celebrity that she and Joe are not broke. According to the International Business Times website, RadarOnline.com had reported that the Gorgas were selling their six-bedroom home at 8 Pond View because they were having trouble paying the mortgage and wanted to move back to Franklin Lakes. Read the full story from International Business Times here. But according to HuffPost Celebrity, the Gorgas are not moving to Franklin Lakes for financial reasons but because they would prefer to live there over Montville and would like to make the move before their …
Teresa calls Joe 'the meanest brother' in confrontation that may end their relationship.
This week on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” screaming and finger-pointing gave way to quiet, sad resignation. And sometimes, that’s harder to watch. The episode starts with a montage of different housewives talking to their husbands about the explosive, near-physical fight between sisters-in-law Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga last week. Gorga is upset with Giudice for calling her a gold-digger; Teresa is upset that her brother Joe told his wife about the comment in the first place. "He broke our confidence and I’ll never tell him anything ever again,” Giudice said. “Zip, zip, zip.” Most interesting about this scene is the weighing in of the husbands, especially the less-than-present Albert Manzo, Caroline’s husband. “I have the …

Lombardi said he will not tolerate drama.
"Jerseylicious" stars and stylists Olivia Blois Sharpe and Tracy DiMarco simply couldn't keep their harsh words to themselves during a grand opening for the Anthony Robert Salon, as seen on Sunday night's episode of The Style Network reality show. According to The Style Network's blog, Anthony Lombardi, the Anthony Robert Salon owner, was "stepping out of the Gatsby's shadow" by expanding his own salon at its Verona location. The Gatsby, a competing salon with Lombardi and shares several employees, including DiMarco and Blois Sharpe, a Montville Township High School graduate, is located in Green Brook. Lombardi had tried a soft opening with a "Friends and Family" event that was featured on that last episode, but after that event was …

Event celebrates its 30th season.
When is a balloon festival not (just) a balloon festival? That’s a tough question, especially when a huge yearly event is billed as such (I mean, it's called the Festival of Ballooning, after all) and there certainly are plenty of hot-air balloons to be displayed. Still, the Quick Chek Festival of Ballooning—in its 30th year, running from July 27 through 29 at Solberg Airport in Readington—is also part amusement park, with a healthy number of rides, an arts-and-crafts emporium, a yoga and Zumba demonstration, and lots and lots of food. Of the 30 years, Quick Chek has been a major sponsor for 20. And for the first time, Patch is partnering with the festival to get you in at a great price. Between May 13 and 20, use this link to buy tickets …

Area theater lovers can see two shows by the legendary composer in the coming weeks
The works of Stephen Sondheim are among the most challenging in theater, but the great composer obviously isn't intimidating area theater groups. Dover Little Theater is currently staging "Company," Sondheim's groundbreaking 1970 classic about a single man in three relationships. The show is known as one of the first that deals with realistic adult themes, and features such songs as "Being Alive." Meanwhile, The Barn Theatre will present "Assassins," with a run opening May 18. The 1990 musical is about the men and women who either assassinated, or tried to assassinate, presidents of the United States. And even if you don't like Sondheim, there's bound to be something for everyone on a stage near you, from "Cabaret," to "Southern Comforts" …

Gayle Giacomo tries to offer advice for Anthony Lombardi's new salon.
This week's "Jerseylicious" featured fighting words as Gatsby Salon owner, and Bridgewater resident, Gayle Giacomo offered some not so friendly words about Anthony Lombardi's new salon during Sunday's episode. With Lombardi having a small event to promote his new salon, Giacomo attended in an effort to both support her friend and offer advice, she said on the "Jerseylicious" blog on the Style Network's website. Giacomo said that because she had already been through the process of opening a salon, she thought she could offer some tips. "I wanted to help my friend," she said in the blog. "The place wasn't in perfect shape, though, so I'm not sure how he'll be able to open quickly. He didn't have a bathroom, and was sending people to 7-11!" …
Sisters-in-law come face-to-face in argument stemming from 'gold-digger' comment.
Reality shows are not reality. Most fans of them are aware, and it’s no longer a shock when show are “revealed” to be staged. Still, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” does a middling to good job of staying as “real” as possible. Or at least they did, until this season. There are the little things, like purposefully quoting the issues that got the biggest reaction from Season 3. Joe Gorga’s obsession with “poision,” for example, has only increased. But it really becomes evident with the central conflict so far which is, as always, between Montville residents Joe Gorga, his wife Melissa Gorga, and his sister Teresa Giudice. The most recent issue rose when Joe Gorga tried to talk to his sister about a quote he’d seen from her husband Joe …
