Your Guide to Good Friday

What's open, what's closed and where to worship

Today is Good Friday, the last Friday before Easter and, in Montville Township, it is a holiday. As a result, both the municipal building and the Township library are closed, though most of the township’s businesses are open for normal business hours. Residents are advised to call before making the trip.

For those looking to worship today, here’s a partial rundown of what churches in town are offering service.

Worship Services:

St. Pius X Church is holding two services on Friday, a “Celebration of the Passion of the Lord”/ Liturgy of the Word/ Veneration of the Cross/ Holy Communion at 3:00 p.m. and a solemn Stations of the Cross at 7:00 p.m.

The Pine Brook Jewish Center is holding Hol HaMoed Pesah – Erev Shabbat service at 8:00 p.m. Friday.

The Montville Reform Church is holding a Tenebrae Service at 7:00 p.m. Friday night.

The Montville United Methodist Church is sharing its Good Friday service with the Boonton Methodist Church, so service will be in Boonton at 7:30 p.m.
