Week in Review: Governor Hospitalized, Turf Discussion Heats Up
A weekly recap of what Patch reported on during the week.
Perhaps the biggest story this week was Governor Chris Christie's hospitalization on Thursday from "asthma-like symptoms," which multiple Patch editors reported on as soon as the story broke.
We also covered the summer concert series in Montville and much more this week. Here's a breakdown of the week's news:
On Monday, we started the week with a review of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," a show that features a few cast members who reside in Montville. We also brought you a column about vegan grub at weddings, some strange police stories from around the state, a review of "Jerseylicious," yet another show with cast members from Montville, a report about white-tailed deer in the county, an update to the story of Freeholder Margaret Nordstrom's battle against William "Hank" Lyon and reactions to the "Real Housewives" by Montville residents.
On Tuesday, we introduced you to a couple that made their way from North Korea to Brazil to NYC to Montville, took a look at what's going on in the arts in the region, heard what the Board of Education and superintendent think about a proposed turf project at the high school and started a discussion about said project.
On Wednesday, we took a look at bullying and concussion policies in the school district, saw some photos from a 15/16U baseball game and shared an interview between Morristown Patch Editor John Dunphy and the singer of metal band Queensryche.
On Thursday, we caught up with the Jacksonville Chapel Concert Band, who performed in the Community Park on Thursday night, met a local volunteer who works with the Police Explorers and saw an update about mosquitoes in the county.
On Friday, we met another Police Explorer and said farewell to Montville Patch's editor. A new editor will take over in August.
