The Montville Education Foundation (MEF) had its bi-annual Fall Fashion Show Family Extravaganza on November 18, 2012 at the East Hanover Manor. The afternoon kicked off with an amazing performance by Montville Township High School’s own School of Rock, originally funded by the MEF six years ago!
Led by music teacher, Anthony Sia, the band had the capacity crowd on its feet. Featuring music from the 70’s through today, it was great to see the SOR perform.
Following the musical portion of the event was a spectacular fashion show, emceed by legendary New York DJ/Personality Marc “The Cope” Coppola. The show included models from throughout the district -- kindergarten students wearing “kiddy couture,” high school students in elegant evening wear, and our wonderful teachers and administrators in fashions both informal and formal.
Donating their time and talents to the afternoon were NYC Stylist Stacie Fitzgerald, who did a phenomenal job of both styling and overseeing the children’s portion of the fashion show, while 580 South, Jos. A. Bank and Robin’s Closet outfitted our adult models in classic style. Karma Salon of Lake Hiawatha also donated their time and talents the day of the event. Karma also donated Tricky Tray baskets and gave everyone in attendance a discount coupon, to make the event that much more sensational.
After a sumptuous three course meal, the fun continued with our DJ, Mr. Lyons playing popular music while families danced the afternoon away. Finally, the excitement of the day peaked with the announcing the winners of over 50 sensational Tricky Tray baskets and the 50/50 winner. Over $18,000 was raised from this fabulous event!
This wonderful, family oriented afternoon takes place every other year, and 100 percent of the profits are used to fund MEF grants.
