Meet the New Editor of Montville Patch
Jake Remaly shares his fondest Montville memory—thus far.
Montville Patch has a new local editor—me.
John Arthur mentioned in his farewell post that I have community journalism experience, which is true. I have a degree in Journalism/Professional Writing from The College of New Jersey and worked at four daily newspapers around the state over the last several years.
This is the first time I will be focusing my community news efforts on a single town.
One of my favorite Montville memories thus far is of hiking up Pyramid Mountain to Tripod Rock last year. And I might not be far off track in appreciating the natural beauty around here. Last week, I met John Sereno, a retired research chemist who has lived in Montville for 50 years. He said he loves living in town for a variety of reasons, but the best thing to do in town is watch the sun set from the hills next to Montville High School and the library.
You’ll be seeing me around town. I also will be chatting in the comments and on Montville Patch’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Please reach out to me any time: 973-452-1013 or jacob.remaly@patch.com.

I assume you were at the High Schoolo " ampitheater " concert last night - Pine Brook's very talented Ed Alstrom was terrific with his three associates.
Have you heard of Ed? He is also the organ player for the Yankee home games.

We had a photographer at the concert ( http://patch.com/A-lbxR ). What were some highlights from the show?
I saw on Mr. Alstrom's website ( http://www.edalstrom.com/ ) this morning that he plays organ for the Yankees. I know some Yankees fans who will be very interested to learn this and probably hear him at the stadium.
Unfortunately I did not get to the concert myself, but I will be looking for other chances to hear him. That style of music appeals to me.

I hope my liberal use of exclamation marks in the previous comment doesn't bother too many people. I don't always punctuate half of my sentences with exclamation marks. I suppose I was trying to convey my excitement for tips and wireless Internet and got carried away.
