Healthy Eating is an 'Art' at Butler Store

Smoothies and soups make perfect healthy snack.

In between stuffing ourselves with stuffing and gobbling Christmas cookies, many of us will be looking for something "healthy" to munch on in the next couple of weeks.

But munchies sometimes come in bowls and cups too.

With a variety of organic soups and smoothies, The Art of Healthy Living offers a unique alternative that will not leave you feeling guilty.

Each week, Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

The Art of Healthy Living- From the name of it, many are not sure what exactly to expect from the Butler health food store. Even walking inside, customers can expect to see something new each time, whether it be new items or menu options or decorative keepsakes crafted by the store's owner, Richard Rothbard.

As for the food, there are tons of options, depending on what you are in the mood for. Breakfast wraps with all-natural ingredients are served every day as well as lunch sandwiches including vegetarian options. From the Juiceteria, an organic juice bar, you can order fruit and green smoothies with rice milk and protein powder, of course substituting in or out whatever you would like. Gluten-free options are also available. I tend to choose the strawberry pineapple smoothie and hold the protein and agave nectar. This way, I'm able to taste the freshness of the fruit.

Homemade soups and chilis are made daily on site too and to finish off a meal, try one of The Art of Healthy Living's delicious dairy-free organic ice creams made from soy and hemp. The ice creams come in traditional flavors, like strawberry or chocolate, but, according to store employees, are much healthier.
