Best Places to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Montville
Here, the Patch guide to St. Patrick's Day in Montville, from the best Guinness pours to the most delicious Irish dinners.
Maybe you aren't as Irish as St. Patrick himself (who was kidnapped and sent to Ireland as a slave, escaped in 409 and returned to Ireland in 432, believing he had been called upon to spread the word of God) but on March 17, everyone's a little Irish.
So, check out these local St. Patrick's Day events and celebrations.
First, check out Montville's Readers' Choice for Best Place to Celebrate St Patty's.
Poor Henry's, on Route 202 in Towaco, will be offering corned beef and cabbage and Irish soda bread every day from Thursday through Sunday in honor of St. Patrick's Day. On Saturday and Sunday, the Irish restaurant will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. As for entertainment, Kevin McArdle will perform Thursday beginning at 8 p.m.; Barry McArdle will perform Friday and Saturday beginning at 9 p.m.; and a bagpipe band will perform with Brian McArdle on Sunday beginning at 6 p.m.
Harrigan's, an Irish restaurant by nature, also offers St. Paddy's specials to celebrate the holiday. The Irish pub is most proud of its steak sandwich, but offers a variety of beers. Harrigan's was the winner of our Readers' Choice contest in 2012.
